Giorgia was born in Bologna Italy. She earned a degree in Art education at
The Institute Artistico of Bologna. The focus of her work at that time was
on figure and portraiture in oil. While living in Bologna she participated
in several group exhibits.
Giorgia worked as a fashion designer before becoming employed at an
architectural firm as an interior designer.
In 1951 Giorgia left Italy for the United States worked as a medical
secretary and raised her family. After retiring, Giorgia aspired to become a
full time artist. She then studied art with local artists/teachers such as
Ralph Murray, Guy Corriero and Bob Willman. She also studied with nationally
and internationally known artists such as Tony Couch, Charles Reid and Skip
Lawrence.
While Giorgia began painting in oils she primarily paints in watercolors and
pastels. She has participated in many judged exhibits and has received
numerous awards. Giorgia is a signature member of the Central New York
Watercolor Society. She teaches watercolor and pastel at the Mohawk Valley
Center for the Arts in Little Falls N.Y.
